FAQ
What is a Giclée print?
The word Giclée (“g-clay”), is derived from the French verb gicler meaning “to squirt or spray”. It is a process that uses a 12 colour ink jet printer, acid free papers, and pigment based archival inks. Allowing for a better longevity, light fastness and stability. In short - Giclée printing provides a superior quality print.
What is so special about the paper you use?
My fine art prints are all printed on Somerset Velvet paper made in a factory established in England in the 1700's. This thick 330gsm - slightly textured paper is the Rolls Royce of papers and is brilliantly receptive to archival pigment inks.
How do you sign each print? With Wax?!
I sign all of my limited edition prints by pressing my worn family ring into hot melted wax - using it like an antique seal. That way you know each print has been personally handled by me. Each wax mark is utterly unique! I must say - my heart runs faster every time I do this, but it is worth it for that special extra treat!
